Photogenic - The Eagle Warrior Couples

The installation used film cartridges to portray the photogenic look of the main characters of the novel series “The Return of the Condor Heroes”, Yang Guo and Xiaolongnü, as the couple is young and superb in Kungfu. The stories of this novel are definitely deeply entrained into the culture of many oriental people of contemporary times.

​“The Eagle Warrior Couples” by Jin Yong is the second part of the Condor Trilogy. It was first serialized between May 20, 1959 and July 5, 1961 on Ming Pao newspaper. From then on, there has been 7 separate TV drama series being filmed between 1976 – 2006 in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Singapore with different actors/actresses in their respective countries. The story revolves around Yang Guo and his lover Xiaolongnü, both in their late teens, in their adventure in the wulin fraternity, which does not approve of their taboo love between master and apprentice…
